Founded in 2008 in Georgia (Michael Kroll, M.D.) and Hawaii (Mark Kroll, B.A., C.H), The Hypnosis Experience offers hypnosis and hypnotherapy treatment, specializing in weight reduction and smoking cessation. Hypnosis treatment is also offered for phobias, anxieties of all kinds, and personal growth areas. The Hypnosis Experience does not offer nor believe in the reliability of past or between life regressions. In addition, forensic hypnosis is not offered. Comedy stage hypnosis shows are also featured through The Hypnosis Experience.
Dr. Kroll received an M.D. degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1964 after undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan. He served a rotating internship and residency in Ophthalmology at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago, IL, finishing in 1968.
He had a solo private practice of ophthalmology in San Jose, California from July 1968 through September 1985. While in San Jose, he was on the clinical faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Ophthalmology, advancing from clinical assistant instructor to clinical professor during that tenure.
He studied clinical hypnotherapy and hypnosis at the Santa Clara County Hospital and received certification as a clinical hypnotherapist from the Santa Clara County (California) Hypnosis Association in 1977. He has used hypnosis over the years, primarily for treatment of headaches, anxiety, phobias, and substance abuse treatment as well as an adjunct to local anesthesia, in selected cases with patients of his ophthalmology practice.
He relocated to Oahu, Hawaii in 1985. In March 1986 he became associated with a single specialty ophthalmology practice, Hawaiian Eye Center, until December 2003. He continued to treat selected patients with hypnotherapy for the same kinds of disorders.
Dr. Kroll moved to Georgia in May, 2004. He has worked part time for Marietta Eye Clinic as an ophthalmologist since January 2005.
MarkDavid Kroll, B.A., C.H., received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he was part of the Call-Line (Community Assistance Listening Line) for three years. From 2001—2004 he was the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Family Specialist at the Army Substance Abuse Program at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. His introduction to therapeutic hypnosis came by way of a phobia cure of needles/injections while in tenth grade by one of Milton Erickson's students, and he has been interested in hypnosis ever since. Performing for over thirty-five years as a magician, he wanted to expand his talents to include comedy stage hypnosis. He studied for and received a certification as a certified hypnotist and has been offering various hypnosis approaches in addition to taking his hypnotic ability to the stage in 2006. Balancing his desire to teach and serve with his desire to entertain, hypnosis allows for both. He has increased his therapeutic range under his father’s tutelage.
